Private Gallery and Workshop
Sussex UK / 2016
with James Wells Architects
A tiny and ancient stable in the English countryside; a gallerist from London; a businessman with a passion for joinery: these are the characters involved in the project.
The concept underneath: transforming a ruin in a temporary exhibition space and in a joinery workshop, just one hour far from London.
The objective: preserving the main features of the small listed building, giving to the shelter a touch of modernity and relation with the surrounding.
The solution: bringing back the ancient glory and beauty of the structure, opening it up towards the garden through big windows and gates, using high-performance and innovative materials and solutions.
