Francesca Diano architect is a design practice based in Italy and the UK.
We are surrounded by architecture and we are an active part of a space:every project is about imagining the optimal arrangement in a space of possibilities and situations. However, design is more than just functional response: everybody deserves beauty, not in the sense of luxury, but as a balance between light, shadow, emotion and time. Every intervention, no matter how small, can change the quality of our life.

OPLA
the stool
A coffee table which can be transformed in a stool or, stacking the items over, in a modular shelf.
OPLA’ is a whole project made up of versatile and multifunctional furniture. The series has been developed after my personal reflection on the comtemporary living, aiming to cope with the lack of space which characterizes modern cities. The metal chairs have been designed to be folded and easily placed in a cubic and movable coffee table; the cubic shelves can yet be stacked one on top of the other or, if used as an unique piece of furniture, they are coffee tables which can be turned into stools by pulling out the seatback from the metal structure.
